-Two years have passed since the invasion, now called Baliol's Dream, started with the arrival of infestations of blooms and mounds - moving green tentacles that poured into the Reaches from the sea.  The devastation of the vines is immense with cities, towns and castles destroyed and countless lives lost.  The armies of the Reaches are desperately trying to hang on, but Dragonsford Castle has fallen and unrest ripples throughout the Reaches.  The heroes find themselves on a quest chasing pieces of an artifact, in partnership with Myodynn, a strange undersea denizen, and unable to slow the march of the tendrils across the land.

+The Overlord of the Old Kingdom, Theodric XIX, lies on the marble floor of the Great Hall.  His long, flowing white beard is flecked with crimson blood.  Slowly, his hand releases a small blue-green orb, approximately two inches in diameter.  The orb rolls onto the floor and then suddenly picks up speed, as if alive in its own rights.  As it weaves its way through the room, any who attempt to pick it up are thwarted - always just missing the orb.  It finally comes to rest at the feet of Hylax.
