Auto-firing depending on severity is just too vague. Here is a fun alternative - a +6 to your initiative roll (not doubled for haste) divided amongst the party. So, you could choose to give U-Gene a +3, Ernie a +2 and Vince a +1 on the first round. Obviously, you have to declare it before the dice is rolled. This could be changed each round to be tactical based on situation. This could be cast by the rune bearer and affects the entire party. This must be cast, so it doesn’t work in surprise situations. However, it doesn’t require beans or charges so there is no reason to not use it in every battle.
