14 Tinwhistle Close - First

NOTE: Dame Redworth is not at the two-story home on Tinwhistle Close. She will be lurking nearby.

The front of the townhouse at 14 Tinwhistle Close shows that it was once a fine house now in decline. The dark green paint is peeling from the wooden shutters and door, and the grounds around the house are shabby. The most noticeable thing about the house is that the large front window is broken out. Shards of glass surround a chair that sits awkwardly amongst the glass.

NOTE: The glass is colored. A bit of work will show that the stained glass was that of a pair of knights.

NOTE: An urchin, Horace, will come up and tell the party not to go into the house because it is filled with bats! This was Mrs. Jenkins house. She lived here with her daughter, Penny, until she died. Her husband was a famous knight for King Vince before he died. She told good stories and made good cookies. Mrs. Redworth was mean. I never talked to her.

Room 1: Entry

The entrance to the house bereft of any furnishing. Blank squares on the wall show where paintings once hung. A stairway leads up to a first story. The door to the parlor is propped open with a large rock from the garden.

Room 2: Kitchen

A large kitchen is stacked with crates filled with dishes, pewter tankards, and other daily items. Straw protects the items which are clearly ready for transport. A single set of dinnerware sits on a table. Some meager food is stacked near the stove - clearly food for a single person and not yet spoiled. Both doors in this room are locked.

Room 3: Storage

Most like a formal dining room at one time, this area is now a warehouse of crates, boxes and small barrels. The crates are mostly sealed, the few remaining open ones are filled with straw. Small furniture and knick knacks are carefully wrapped and labeled for a sale. Currently an antique music box is being cleaned and wrapped.

Several of the boxes have been addressed to "Gaylord & Sons Auctioneers, 20 Greater Farthing Road, Teufeldorf"

Room 4: Parlor

This parlor shows signs of once being nice albeit not opulent. The frame of a large stained glass window now has shards of glass around the edges. Like the entryway, everything has been stripped from the room. The bookcase is empty. Brush has blown from the street. Two leather chairs have been pulled in front of what is now a dead fireplace.

The door to the storage room is locked.

This room is filled with stirges!

Room 5: Upper Stairway

Like the anteroom, this area is empty. The walls here are painted a bright gold color which brings some cheer into the room.

Room 6: Common Room

The purpose of this room is lost as it is now filled with crates, boxes and barrels. Two desks are filled with small trinkets - lead knights and soldiers, an intricately-made toy castle. A ledger book on the desk is filled with pages of crabbed handwriting listing the items and which boxes they are packed in.

The door to the child's bedroom is locked.

If this room is entered, a "card knight" will slip under the door and attack!

Room 7: Penny's Bedroom

Unlike the rest of the house, this room is pristine. Bright yellow walls give the house a cheery feel. A bed is made in the corner with brightly-colored sheets. A children's sized bookcase holds books. A desk is filled with drawings made in chalk - mostly romantic scenes of chivalrous knights. The fireplace crackles here.

NOTE: On the desk is a copy of The Green Knights. This is where the card knights are coming from.

NOTE: Placing the princess bookmark back in the book will stop the knights.

Room 8: Mrs. Jenkins/Mrs. Redworth's Bedroom

This room shows signs of recent habitation. While not clean, the room is neatly arranged, several plants sit near the windows, and the furniture is tidy.

If this room is entered, a "card knight" will slip under the door and attack!

NOTE: A copy of the History of Tang Sailing Ships is on the desk.

NOTE: In the coal bin - to be burned, is a simple bookmark. It is a handrawn image of a princess - like the one in the The Green Knights. Putting this back into the book will stop the card knights from attacking.
