While no definitive answer exists as to the which race first walked the Realm, the history of the elves stretch back to the beginning of the written word. Their history is the most colorful and mystical in the Realm, hopelessly intertwined not only with the races of men and dwarves, but also steeped in the lore of the forest and faeries. The current-day name of the elven nation is Elothian with its capital at Yarbon deep in the ancient hardwoods of the great forest of the Evenwild.

During the seventh century of the First Age, the Order of the Druids was formed to go into the world of man. There, they would use their powers to instruct the other races in the natural order. It was during this period that the first druids took up residence in their magical groves of silver oaks outside of the Evenwild, a tradition that continues to this day. In the following centuries, the Rangers of the Wilderlands were formed as a fighting branch of that Order bringing the might of the sword to the word of Oakentree.

Elven trading posts can be found throughout the Realm, and visitors are always welcome at these settlements at the edge of the forests. While the elves do not attempt to stop travelers from entering their woods, they do watch their guests and have little tolerance for transgressors. Only in their personal groves and in the sacred woods of the Evenwild do the elves forbid outsiders. While travel to Yarbon is uncommon, trade with the elven capital has been taking place for centuries.

The Evenwild The Evenwild is the largest forest in the Realm comprising almost a third of the entirety of Perem Major. For over four thousand years, these woods have been the domain of the elves. Their dark woods and glades are shrouded in mystery and still filled with ancient creatures from the elder days. The elves act as guardians of the forest, always vigilant to act against those who would destroy its sanctity.
