Collapse of the Old Kingdom
A scrap of paper is intercepted as it leaves the Old Kingdom military headquarters in Whitecliff headed to the port. It has a coded message and a clue.
Waves are 6 feet high.
Deciphering the rail fence cipher, the party learns just in time that four bombs have been placed to guard the entrance to the Sapphire Sea. With full invasion forces planning to enter the Sea to capture the capital at Whitecliff, disaster is narrowly averted.
The Old Kingdom is collapsing. The wars of the previous two seasons have left the coffers depleted and the Overlord's troop demoralized.
A final mustering of troops stream along the highways to the kingdom's capital. The dwarves and humans from the Reaches arrive at both the north and south shores of the Sapphire Sea. The dwarves, landing at Malgrave quickly siege the city in April and begin moving west. The to north, the Reaches knights land at the Eye but a siege there is unsuccessful. A final, open field battle with the Reaches exchanges with the Old Kingdom, routing the defender's troops.
Meanwhile, the elves are hitting hard from the far west with sieges at Graymaw Castle, Barncowl and Dandlestone Castle. Most fail early, but the Old Kingdom troops are disrupted in moving home for the final defense. Another bloody battle between the Eastern Reaches and the Old Kingdom just outside of Bruckstone seals the fate of the Old Kingdom capital.
In May, the Eastern Reaches, leading a unified army of nations, sieges Whitecliff. The Old Kingdom counterattack that month fails. In June, the city is too fortified to lose.
As the Overlord sues for peace in June, the elves siege Archdale and Wintham Cross. With no choices left, the Overlord surrenders, and the Invasion of the Old Kingdom ends in complete victory for the Reaches.
