The northernmost warband, the Death Moon orcs live in the harsh plains and sparse forests of Wintershriven. Their ranks include a large number of goblins. Erorag Elfhater established the tribe stronghold in 862 TA in the protective boughs of the Forlorn Forest near the coast of the Great Sea. The Death Moon warband is the only orcish tribe to build their own ships, mostly small oar-powered craft which they use to assault Korgsland to the north and Timberway to the south. They are also skilled fishermen, although they prefer to hunt in the Forlorn Forest.

Forlorn Forest
A smallish pine forest growing on the coast of the Orc Nation, the trees of this woodland are prized as masts for large ships. Certain species of trees found only within this forest have a strange phosphorescent quality when they die and begin to rot, giving the place an eerie air at night.
Wintershriven
The most northwesterly plain in the Reaches, the Wintershriven is bounded by the Duntide in the south and the Shadowyarn Mountains in the north. This alpine meadow is home to vast herds of northern hoofed beasts who migrate throughout the plains during the summer months, retreating to the Forlorn Forest in the winter. There are no significant orcish or human settlements in the heart of the Wintershriven, although the warmer coastal waters have several permanent villages.
