The Barony of Southwark was established in 817 TA when the harbor city of Harrowport was sieged and occupied by the Southern Barons, providing the Reaches with a Great Sea trading port on the eastern side of Sandal. The deposed Governor of Harrowport, a former pirate by trade, was hung on a gallows by the docks as a sign to other bucanneers of the fate that awaited freebooters and brigands. Shortly after the Baroness Eva Southwark assumed the throne after her husband's mysterious death, it was rumored that the pirates returned to the city. Outside of the port city, Southwark is a vast uninhabited tract of wild with only a few villages dotting its western edge.
