== Dungeons & Dragons: The Heart of the Wolfshaunt ==

Two years have passed since the invasion, now called Baliol's Dream, started with the arrival of infestations of blooms and mounds - moving green tentacles that poured into the Reaches from the sea.  The devastation of the vines is immense with cities, towns and castles destroyed and countless lives lost over two campaign seasons.  The armies of the Reaches are desperately trying to hang on, but Dragonsford Castle has fallen and unrest ripples throughout the Reaches. The heroes find themselves on a quest chasing pieces of an artifact to stop the invasion, in partnership with Myodynn, a strange undersea denizen.  So far, they are unable to slow the march of the tendrils across the land.

Hylax is annoyed.  He can't find his reading glasses anywhere.  What is wrong with the staff at Teufeldorf?  He definitely needs to bring the matter up with Vince.  Now there is a note sitting on his desk - written in an awful, hard-to-read spidery hand - and he can't seem to make out the words.  And where did the note come from?

''For those who have not been to Vendredi Hall before, it might look that a lush plain of rolling hills and tall grass ends at a hillock of grass, some quarter mile long standing at the edge of a dark, verdant forest.  But, in fact, the hillock is made of vines and tendrils, moving slowly in the light.  This is Vendredi Hall, buried under mountains of sinister vegetation.  Nothing can be seen of the Hall.  A trail of thick vines lead from the area towards the northeast and Bleakstone Lake some thirty miles distant. Hylax - Greetings from the Wolfshaunt.  I am Grandfather Josiah.  We have not met personally, but your actions in my lands are well known to me.  Most recently, you came into possession of a ring which belongs to me.  I propose a simple trade with you - the ring for an item which will have much greater value to you in your quest to keep the denizens of our valley from invading your lands - the Heart of the Wolfshaunt.  The Heart is a magical item used at a ceremony called The Mustering - a bonding of the werewolves - a ceremony which has already begun.  The ring bonds five slaves to me.  The Heart bonds thousands of wolves together.

While D&D has always been the focus of Matcon, a number of diversions have been created over the years.  These have been thoughtfully blended into the campaign: Witenagemot and Warmaster providing a large-scale focus on the campaigns of kingdoms and generals; MTG Menagerie providing special one-time spells for characters; and even dwarf poker providing a way for dwarves to lose their warchests to the forces of evil.  Matcon will continue to evolve over time providing new challenges from the twisted mind of CM the DM.

It is March 922 TA.

Two years have passed since the invasion, now called Baliol's Dream, started with the arrival of infestations of blooms and mounds - moving green tentacles that poured into the Reaches from the sea. The devastation of the vines is immense with cities, towns and castles destroyed and countless lives lost over two campaign seasons. The armies of the Reaches are desperately trying to hang on, but Dragonsford Castle has fallen and unrest ripples throughout the Reaches. The heroes find themselves on a quest chasing pieces of an artifact to stop the invasion, in partnership with Myodynn, a strange undersea denizen. So far, they are unable to slow the march of the tendrils across the land.
